Superb comparison, I do enjoy your postings. I had a chance and did purchase used M8.2 with only 2400 counts in pristine condition some days ago and just love the DNG's coming out of the camera (using 28 Summicron ASPH V1). Thx Paul.🤝

In the old days of film, 70% of all commercial, product and studio model colour photography using medium and large format was done with Ektachrome Professional roll and sheet films. Fuji had a some of the other 30%.

I just think kust tje opposite: Het the LEICA M8 or M9 and enjoy photography to your full capacities. Just be careful which lens is well suiter for particular type of photography. That is it.

Thanks for the video. To me, “Pure basic photography” is the selling point.

Here's my Lightroom tip. Leica had a contract with lightroom and lightroom had a contract with leica customers. Lightroom will not honor the contract in that it can be downloaded on 2 computers! There was no timeline in the contract for customers to download twice. They actually can be sued! A court case like that has already set a precedent.

The statement at 3:00 is a little funny, considering the location you shoot at 😄.. Considering that your location is some peoples Iceland, it really doesn‘t feel „true“.. but i agree that in principle a photographer should be able to find good shots anywhere.. Depending on the location, the difficulty of finding these shots will vary dramatically. Some places just are incredibly unremarkable, which especially at the beginning as a photographer will make the barrier to entry a lot more difficult to overcome.

i keep blowing out my daytime shots with my m8. i'm leaving it in A so camera deciding most stuff...but how do i check if my pics blown..since te screen sucks so bad....help ( i shoot raw...)

Great shots. The best pictures I took were with a OM 2n and their 24 mm f2 lens. It just works feels good in my large hands surprisingly; the ads back then were right. Good metering as I only use to take positive (slide) film with it. Only thing is the viewfinder spoiled me, bright and accurate no DSL came close. My regret was not getting the 40mm and 100 f2 lens when they were first released, might be to expensive now for me.

It's a great point you make here Paul. I delete the really bad shots (out of focus, subject cut off etc) before processing anything but leave the rest. It's funny also how some shots that I loved originally, I look at the processing now and hate it, so re-do it. Like you say, it's part of the ongoing learing process.

Hi Paul - with image stabilisation nowadays being so good then a stitch may be possible for a wider view ?

Dogs are the BEST arent they... if that was my wife waiting there id get all the complaints under the sun ... yet that dog waits - just happy to be in the presence of his best and only mate.

What camera do you shoot you videos with?

I shoot with the Oly EM 5 - just bulletproof and with IBIS ahead of its time, still going strong after 10 years. That pani Leica lens looks the biz, very nice pics.
